ADA SERVICES

ACCESSIBLE PARKING
Spaces are available at the Decatur Civic Center lot (North and Jackson Streets), North Street Garage (North & Water Streets), and Franklin Street Municipal lot (between Wood and Main Streets) will be marked for and accessible to the disabled. Parking is $5.00 at both locations. The entrance to the Franklin Street parking lot will be closed 9:00 am – 11:00 am on Saturday, during the parade. Vehicles must have properly designated license plates or permit cards and person with disability must be in car. Accessible parking will be managed at each location:

  • Friday|4:00 PM to 9:00 PM
  • Saturday|8:00 AM to 9:00 PM
  • Sunday | 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM

ACCESSIBLE STAGE SEATING
Each of the main stages have provided 10 chairs for disabled people and one guest per disabled person; in a roped off area for up-front viewing for people in wheelchairs.

ACCESSIBLE TRANSPORTATION
The subsidized van & taxi service for the disabled will offer rides during the festival. Decatur residents registered for the service should call 330-7771 for taxi service and 424-2821 for wheelchair accessible van service.

WHEELCHAIR RENTAL
Easter Seals Central Illinois will once again make wheelchairs and strollers available to the general public during the Decatur Celebration. Equipment is made available through the Easter Seals, Medical Equipment Loan program and Heckman Home Healthcare. A nominal donation of $10.00 is requested for the wheelchairs and $5.00 for the strollers.

Easter Seals Central Illinois has offered this service since 1987, and is pleased to continue the tradition.

VISITOR SERVICES

BABY STROLLER RENTAL
Strollers are available at the Civic Center for a $5 donation as a service of Easter Seals.

BLOOD PRESSURE SCREENING
Free blood pressure screenings are available at the Decatur Memorial Hospital Care Center at Water & Main Streets.

DIAPER CHANGING AREA
Free at the Decatur Memorial Hospital Care Center by Prairieland Kiwanis, Water & Main Streets.

FIRST AID
Services provided by the American Red Cross in the Civic Center Grass, and Decatur Celebration’s First Aid Command Center at the Corner of Main & Franklin.

FREE WATER
Provided at the Richland Community College Ice Water Oasis, southeast corner of Central Park.

HANDWASHING STATIONS
For your convenience, hand washing stations complete with soap are available at North & Franklin Streets, Water & South Park Streets, State & Main Streets, and Franklin & North Park Streets.

LOST & FOUND
Located in front of the Civic Center, managed by the Decatur Chapter of AT&T Telephone Pioneers.

MOTHER/BABY FEEDING AREA
An enclosed air conditioned trailer is available to provide privacy to feed and care for the baby at the Decatur Memorial Hospital Care Center at Water & Main Streets.

PICNIC TABLES
Provided by the Decatur Park District and available throughout the festival area.

POLICE SERVICES in front of the Decatur Civic Center.

PROGRAMS
The Herald & Review’s free Decatur Celebration program with the show schedule, entertainment, crafter listing, and more is available at the Souvenir booths located at William & State, and Water & Prairie.

REST AREAS in Central Park and on the Civic Center grass.

SOUVENIRS are available at stands at William & State, and Water & Prairie.

TOILETS are available throughout the festival area and in the Civic Center. Handicapped facilities are available at most locations.

Free Decatur Herald & Review programs, general information & accessible seating information will be available at the Souvenir booths located at William & State, and Water & Prairie.
